چکیده
We experimentally demonstrate a continuous-wave ro-vibrational Raman spectrum that is two octaves wide with spectral components ranging from 0.8 to 3.2 μm in wavelength. The spectrum is produced in low pressure molecular deuterium inside a high finesse cavity.

Continuous-wave light modulation at molecular frequencies
By using continuous-wave (CW)–stimulated Raman scattering inside a high-finesse cavity, we generate three CW spectral components covering about one octave of optical bandwidth. We investigate the mutual coherence of these three beams by studying phase-dependent second harmonic generation. From the high contrast of the observed interference fringes, we infer very good phase coherence across the ...
متن کاملInvestigation of Scalar Modulation Instability in the Presence of Raman Scattering in Photonic Crystal Fibers
In this paper, by including Raman scattering in the coupled-mode equations, the scalar modulation instability in photonic crystal fibers is investigated. The evolution of the pump, Stokes and anti-Stokes waves along the fiber as well as the conversion efficiency for two cases, with and without Raman effect, are studied. The effect of anti-Stokes seed and the pump depletion on the evolution of S...

We demonstrate the generation of ≈10 rotational sidebands using continuous-wave stimulated Raman scattering in molecular deuterium. The generation occurs inside a high-finesse cavity at molecular gas pressures of ≈0.1 atm.

Black light supercontinuum generation is demonstrated as a result of picosecond pumping a solid-core photonic crystal fiber at 355~nm through the combined effects of intermodal four-wave mixing and cascaded Raman scattering. OCIS codes: 190.4370, 190.5650, 190.4005. The study of supercontinuum (SC) generation in photonic crystal fibers (PCF) continues to be an area of active research, motivated...
متن کامل17 THz Continuous - Wave Optical Modulator
We use coherently rotating hydrogen molecules and demonstrate a continuous-wave (CW) optical modulator at a frequency of 17.6 THz that can modulate any laser within the optical region of the spectrum. The molecules are prepared in a coherent state by using two intense laser beams spaced by the Raman transition frequency inside a high finesse cavity. PACS numbers: 42.65.Dr, 42.65.Re, 42.50.Gy
